GW5 Series Outdoor HV Disconnector

The GW5 Series Outdoor High Voltage Disconnector is one of the most commonly used devices in power systems. Its primary function is to isolate voltage during equipment or line maintenance, ensuring operator safety. It cannot interrupt load current or short-circuit current and should be used in coordination with circuit breakers. During power-off operations, the circuit breaker should be opened before the disconnector, and during power-on operations, the disconnector should be closed before the circuit breaker.

Product Introduction


This product is a three-phase AC high-voltage outdoor transmission device with a frequency of 50Hz, designed to connect or disconnect high-voltage lines under no-load conditions. It allows line switching, operation mode adjustment, and provides safe electrical isolation for busbars, circuit breakers, and other high-voltage equipment during maintenance.

The GW5 Series is manufactured in compliance with JB/T8754-1998 High Voltage Switchgear Model Compilation Method, GB1985-2004 AC High Voltage Disconnectors and Earthing Switches, and DL/T486-2000 Ordering Technical Conditions for AC Disconnectors and Earthing Switches. It also meets the requirements issued by the State Grid Corporation of China. Corrections and enhancements are made according to GB11022-2000 General Technical Requirements for High Voltage Switchgear.

Features


  • Double-column, center-opening, rotary contact structure with self-cleaning capability for improved contact reliability.

  • Contact fingers are made of high-strength, high-conductivity, high-elasticity materials. The elastic force ensures secure clamping, avoiding spring corrosion or heating issues that cause poor contact.

  • Maintenance-free rotating parts: sealed rotating seats prevent water, dust, and harmful gases from entering. Bearings and lubricants remain in optimal condition, ensuring long-term smooth operation.

  • Stainless steel shaft pins and self-lubricating bearings for long-lasting reliability. Steel parts are hot-dip galvanized to prevent corrosion.

  • Optional earthing switches equipped with mechanical interlocks, ensuring safety during operation.

  • Optimized contact finger design reduces wear and extends service life.
